Glyn Moody discusses a paper by Amit Deshpande and Dirk Riehle from SAP Research that finds that open source has exponential growth, both in terms of the absolute amount of source code as well as the growth rate. Glyn Moody concludes that while this "is not sustainable in the long term, [it shows] that open source creation is accelerating".
