Carla Schroder shared four fundamental tasks for a successful open source project: "Be prepared to invest time and resources attracting contributors, and then keeping them. Merely uttering the magic phrase “open source” won’t conjure up a pool of skilled developers happily toiling away for free. Potential contributors need to know that you will deal fairly with them, and not exploit them."
